SCADA/Engineering Technician or Technologist for large SCADA project

JOB DESCRIPTION

Exceed Electrical Engineering is looking for a SCADA/Engineering Technician or Technologist to assist with a large SCADA project. The ideal candidate will be proficient in screen development, tag integration, historian configuration and redundancy testing. Experience with VT SCADA will be a huge asset.

This position will be based out of our office in the downtown heart of Kamloops, BC, close to many restaurants and coffee shops. This position could be contract based or a full-time position depending on the individual. We offer a fun working environment with flexibility for personal and family time. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (may vary)

  • This project will involve SCADA HMI development including graphics, symbols, tags, historians and data acquisition
  • PLC and HMI system programming
  • Opportunity to work in various industries including municipal, industrial and mining

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with SCADA design preferably with an engineering technologist or technician diploma or degree
  • 0-3 years experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and consistency in English
  • Strong computer and programming skills
  • Proficient with various HMI software such as VTScada, iFix, FactoryTalk, and Wonderware
  • Good working knowledge of virtualized environments
  • Able to rapidly establish a good working relationship with clients
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • This position has been deemed as Safety Sensitive – successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment Alcohol and Drug test and background clearance check
  • Must possess a valid passport and driver’s license
  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
